Mahadevi was born in Bombay on December 20,1977.

At the age of nine she discovered Osho in a newspaper article about him. She was attracted to him, especially to his eyes, and wished to know more about him.

Her beloved grandmother gave her a Hindi audiotape of an Osho discourse and when she heard his voice the first time, something instantaneously touched her deep inside - she was magnetically drawn to his voice.

Rather then calling it falling in love she started rising in love with him and she calls it a love affair with her master.

This created a strong reaction with her successful but ambitious parents, but she stood up for her feelings.

She was too young to go alone to see Osho in the Poona ashram and when she was studying in ninth grade, she heard that he had left his body.

The news shocked and left her deeply disappointed because her goal in life was to go and be with him.

After she had finished her studies, she still wanted to experience the place where he had lived, the Osho meditation resort in Poona, and she moved to Poona to continue meditating in his energy field.

For many months she took care of the Samadhi, the place where the remains of Osho’s body are kept.

Ten days before her own enlightenment, she experienced tremendous fear -- the fear of death.

With the deepest trust in her master, the light of a new day was coming, April 20, 2004, a truly new day for her -- the day of her enlightenment.

Her physical body went through a total transformation and as a result became hypersensitive.

In the past five years she has lived rather secluded with her dearest friend and caretaker Michaelvedam and had only a few meetings with friends who asked her a number of questions. The answers that she gave to those questions can be found in her book From Fear to Enlightenment.
